It's only a matter of time before Elijah Dukes
starts doing more fingerprinting and less signing.
Continuing with our look at the future stars (and busts) of the CWFLB, here's what's going on with the other expansion team, the Bashful Satanists:
SP, Nick Adenhart (AA-Angels): 3-1, 1.70 ERA, 37 IP/28 K/15 BB
Life in AA is the same as it was in high-A for the 20-year-old. He could get a look later in the season if he keeps this up.
3B, Ryan Braun (AAA-Brewers): .358/.426/.716-8 HR-17 RBI-3 SB
The Brew Crew are cruising in first place, making the decision to keep Braun in the minors a few more weeks and save a few million in his future arbitration years an easy one. He clearly doesn't need anymore seasoning in AAA (just 9 strikeouts in 95 ABs on the year), the 23-year-old will be up soon enough.
OF, Elijah Dukes (Devil Rays): .213/.327/.372-4 HR-6 RBI-2 SB
Twenty-year-old is splitting time between CF and DH, but has cooled off considerably after a hot start.
OF, Carlos Quentin (D'Backs): .214/.321/.329-1 HR-6 RBI-1 SB
Another struggling young Satanists outfielder, the 24-year-old Quentin is returning from a slight tear of his non-throwing labrum. Don't expect big things this year.
SP, Andrew Miller (AA-Tigers): 1-4, 3.48 ERA, 41.1 IP/28 K/15 BB
Not having quite the success that Lincecum or Hochevar or having early on, but the soon-to-be 21-year-old has shown glimpses of his potential. Has thrown 4 gems and 3 stinkers among his 7 starts.
OF - Justin Upton (high A-D'Backs): .360/.449/.570-3 HR-17 RBI-9 SB
The Satanists' first-round pick last year is just 19, but he's quieting critics after last year's so-so .263/.343/.413 minor league debut.
