Prospect Report: AC's Gun Show

Billy Butler is pissed off about having to play
the field and he's not going to take it anymore!

Greg Heck did a great job breaking down the month that's been in the CWFLB this season, so we'll take a team-by-team look at how the future CWFLB stars (or busts) are doing in the minors. First up, Bayside's finest, AC's Gun Show:

SS, Reid Brignac (AA-Devil Rays): .298/.331/.474-4 HR-22 RBI-4 SB

OF, Jay Bruce (high A-Reds): .323/.369/.592-6 HR-17 RBI-2 SB
Twenty-year-old is hitting like the next Billy Butler.

OF, Billy Butler (AAA-Royals): .337/.445/.584-6 HR-23 RBI-1 SB
One of three recent Gun Show call-ups, the 21-year-old had nothing left to prove in the minors. He's at least hitting a respectable .269 (7-for-26, 1 2B), unlike his Royal teammate Alex "The Bust" Gordon.

SP, Eric Hurley (AA-Rangers): 5-0, 1.47 ERA, 43.0 IP/30 K/8 BB

SP, Clayton Kershaw (low A-Dodgers): 3-0, 1.47 ERA, 30.2 IP/43 K/17 BB
If the 19-year-old can harness his control, he'll be in high-A ball in no time.

SP, Tim Lincecum (AAA-Giants): 4-0, 0.29 ERA, 31.0 IP/46 K/11 BB
Snaggletooth's debut flashed glimpses of stardom, but no matter how you slice it, 5 earned and 5 walks in 4-1/3 innings of work ain't too good. At least now Lincecum's meatballs to Shane Victorino will now benefit the Gun Show. Still, he turns just 23 in a month, pitches in a great park and had ungodly minor league numbers.

SP, Yusmeiro Petit (AAA-D-Backs): 2-3, 7.20 ERA, 25.0 IP/15 K/15 BB
The 22-year-old has quite a few arms in front of him in Arizona and isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

C, Jarrod Saltalamacchia (AA-Braves): .309/.404/.617-6 HR-13 RBI-2 SB
The Sicilian Stallion (pronounced Salt-a-la-mock-ee-ah), is up with the big club while Brian McCann is on the shelf (2-for-9 to start his career). Struggled mightily last year (.230/.353/.380, 8 HR), but looks to be back on the right track. He likely won't help this year, but being on the Gun Show, that shouldn't matter.

3B - Angel Villalona (extended spring training-Giants)
The youngest player in CWFLB history at 16 years of age was robbed from the cradle by Breig before Daddy's Little Boys got him in their clutches. He should help... in 2012.
