A couple of quick comments:
• Strange season for the E-Balls. In their three losses, they have posted the worst score in the league once and the second worst score twice. In their three wins, the 3rd best score once, the 4th best score once…and the 3rd worst score. Truly a feast or famine team, but their “true record” should be 2-4 instead of 3-3.
• The Lynchmob are just getting pounded with injuries. C Geo Soto, OF Jason Heyward and OF Grady Sizemore COMBINED for 8 ABs due to injury during Week 6, and Jeff had to throw Omar Infante out there to play 3B (and score 6 points) due to injuries to Ryan Zimmerman and Scott Rolen…
• Obviously, an incredible amount of parity (mediocrity?). 12 of the 14 teams are between the records of 4-2 and 2-4. But a closer look at the Breakdown to remove the luck factor shows that 9 of the 14 teams fall between the narrow winning percentage range of 40%-60%. Only the Mattrostars and DLB are above, while the Isotopes, Rockbusters and E-Balls fall below.
• The Rabbits’ vaunted, self-proclaimed ace-laden pitching staff dropped a major deuce in Week 6, scoring all of 54.67 points. Not only was this the second worst weekly pitching performance this year (E-Balls Week 3 – 48.67 points) but it’s a number that has been surpassed seven times by individual pitchers – Dan Haren (twice), Jaime Garcia, Jered Weaver, James Shields, Brett Anderson, and Ian Kennedy. Crazy game.
