The Rocky Report: Part III

Part III- The Beasts of the Least
By Rocky Pagnotta

This was written last week so results are not up to date.

Jackrabbits. 9-6 power ranking of 23. The Rabbits, are an example of what can happen when a horrible franchise that consistently makes bad moves (I believe the Mattro factor in years past has been sufficiently covered) can become once they put together a rebuilding plan and stick to it. This is one of the deeper teams in the league and if they can acquire some help at closer could have a long playoff run. (Ed. Note - Todd Jones doesn’t qualify as sufficient help at closer).

Satanists. 8-7 power ranking of 17. While the other expansion team wallows in the mire, the Satanist's are true contenders. At least they were until injuries depleted their squad, making a playoff run all the more improbable. This team’s offense is among the tops in the league and will have to be even better down the stretch if they are going to get in. Like everyone else in the hunt the Satanist's control their own destiny, and if some of their pitching comes back or rounds into form (Blanton on the Phils) that destiny could see them in the postseason.

The Blunted. 8-7 power ranking of 27. Is this for real? Are the doormats of the league, the power bottoms so to speak, actually top three in power and holding a playoff spot this deep into the season? Yes, yes they are. After all the gay innuendo around this franchise and its owner (not that there is anything wrong with that) the little HOMOs that could, are. This offense is loaded, a thin pitching staff has been bolstered this season by some youngsters but can they hold on down the stretch? If they do, and if they can escape one heated rival after another down the stretch, The Blunted will be breaking out the KY and headed out in the Gayborhood for some real celebrating, the Blunted way. It will be a long time coming so the bingo hall better be prepared.
