All the teams henceforth can be considered contenders. Nine teams in contention for not just the last playoff spot, but most, if not at all, can have visions of a first round bye dancing in their head and not be considered delusional. Parity is coming home to roost and it looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Hell’s Kitchen Herzogs 8-7 with a power ranking of 22. If the playoffs ended today the Zogs would not be in based solely upon tie breakers. Not owning the tiebreakers may come back and haunt them, but if they keep playing at their current pace they will fix most of their tiebreaker problems on their own. After the usual slow start by the Zogs they have won 5 of their last 6, and have come flying up the total points list and power rankings. This season is proving to be a turning point for the franchise as many of its tried and true stars were released or traded. (Though to date they may have picked all of them back up) Cooper’s wedding (and more importantly the stress of his wedding night duties) may have led to his early season troubles, but after dealing with Mattro, all honeymoon thoughts seem to have been erased from his memory and it is onto business as usual.
Elephant Balls 7-8 with a power ranking of 13. An enigma with a giant pair of testicles. What are the Elephant Balls? Are they the one game out of the playoffs team, winners of 5 of their last 7, or are they the team with a power ranking of only 13, that has benefited from lackluster play of opponents over the recent stretch. Only time will tell, but it sure seems like one thing is for certain, as George’s Mets go, so go the Balls. Monster second halves by Reyes and Wright alone can keep this team in contention right down to the wire. While the Balls may not seem so imposing on paper, it is a whole different story when that formidable pair are resting on your chin.
Limerick Lynchmob 6-9 with a power ranking of 22. As the power ranking suggests the Mob are better than 6-9. Having won three straight and rebounded from some tough luck losses early in the season the Mob are shaping up as a force to be dealt with down the stretch. A powerful offense provides the backbone to this team, if the young SP staff can mature quickly this year may and up being the ultimate roller coaster ride for owner Jeff Wick, the lowest of the lows (losing to the Blunted, Lords and ‘Stars 3 straight weeks, throw in a loss to the Show as well) and maybe the ultimate high a second championship banner waving from the rafters.
