The Blunted got spanked by their daddy once again, 322.67-230.67.
The preparations had already been made.
Bingo sheets, check.
Anal ring toss, check.
Invitations for the gayborhood friends, check.
Even the victory e-mail to the league was already being crafted.
Unfortunately someone forgot to tell the Blunted Stophers they have a daddy, and daddy always gets his way.
Somehow, some way Sal Goldstein (and his now silent partner Randy) thought this was the year they'd finally dethrone their daddy, the perennial Jeltz Division Champion MattroStars and the team that has spanked them for over 30 times now.
The 12-8 Blunted were taking on the 12-8 MattroStars for the division crown. Other than Randy breaking Sal's cherry after a long night of drinking and gay bingo, it was the biggest moment in the franchise's history. And much like that drunken, hazy evening, it ended with Sal bent over and given a spanking he'll never forget.
With the pennant on the line the Blunted put up a pathetic 230.67 points. How bad were the Blunted? Their closers, Trevor Hoffman (0) and Joakim Soria (-3.33), were actually outscored by MattroStars closer Eddie Guardado who at -1.7 points, didn't crack 0 himself.
When it came to crunch time, Dice-K (29 in 2 starts) and Andy Sonnanstine (21.33 in 2) threw up stinkers while the Stars' King Felix (21) won and Rich Harden (66) posted his second consecutive 33-point start.
"I feel like a broken record saying this every year," said MattroStars owner Matt Grisafi. "But if this doesn't show the Blunted to shut the fuck up, I don't know what will. They talked and talked, and when it came time to walk the walk, they bent over and took it again. Seriously, how many times do we have to beat this kid before he realizes we own him? He's a joke in this clubhouse."
Their dreams of a division crushed, the Blunted will have to pick up the pieces and hope to get one more shot at their daddies by making it through the postseason.
"We'd obviously love to see them again this year," said Grisafi. "It's not often you get two byes in the playoffs."
